Every installation in England and Wales must now be registered as meeting national Building Regulations standards.

Don’t worry – you don’t have to do anything

Your installation company should do it for you through one of the authorised ‘self-certification’ bodies such as Independent Network, with the assure scheme, or perhaps Fensa, Certass, BM Trada or BSI.

Any one of them will issue a ‘Certificate of Compliance’ and register the work with the local authority under the Government’s ‘Competent Person’ Scheme.
